An Italian Birthday to "Remember"

I think this picture explains it all. This was towards the end of the night...maybe I should just start from the beginning...

We went out for kebaps. They are one of my favorite things, and they have AMAZING kebaps here in Palermo.

We went to Champagneria, it's a zone of pubs and bars on the historic side of the city near Teatro Massimo. There were about 15 of us...although the waiters got our orders mixed up with another table, we had a great time. I gave a speech...had the whole restaurant sing "Happy Birthday" to me...yeah, I'd say it was a good birthday dinner.






After dinner, we went to Karaoke on Via Candelai, another street lined with pubs. More lively than Champagneria. It was a great time. Singing "I kissed a girl," "Oi, Maria," and something by Alicia Keys with all of my favorite Italians...I can remember most of it...MOST of it :)

Shortly thereafter, most of the girls had to go back to the Residence. On Saturday nights, we have to be back by 12 30. However, Valeria and I stayed in a hostel so our party continued.

And that's when we went to the discotec...we danced the night away!! It was amazing. Valeria and I got back to the hostel at about 3 am, sat out on the terrace at the hostel, and then went to bed.

You know, after counting down the days until my 21st birthday...I'm glad it finally came, but sad it's over. It's one big birthday you only get to have once. But i got to spend it in Palermo with my new family. Not a bad deal right? Not at all. It's a night I almost can't remember, but will never forget.
